Automation Solutions Stories

• Dan-D-Pak - Canada - Needed a unique label application onto Squareware. They needed to change container orientation prior to labeling and had limited space and budget. We altered the used closer from a Left hand lid orientation to a Right hand, then incorporated a "Catch" conveyor at a reduced cost compared to a 90 degree turn device - this also saved space since they did not have romm in a straight line. We hired a Canadian Tech due to Covid travel restrictions and utilized video, drawings and remote meeting with live video to coach them thru to a proper working system. We also were able to coach them to proper label roll orientation so that the labels were made properly (see top image) • DSD - They have limited space as well as limited budget and needed flexibility with container size changes. We proposed a foot pedal operated scale coupled with our Pinchbelt closer modified to close Roundware as well as standard Square and rectangular STF. The closer also has an extended belt which provides space for packing without having to purchase a separate packing conveyor (see middle image) • G-Foods - Space limited so we sourced a short Top and Bottom Labeler as well as designing a short STF pinchbelt closer. We also will design a dedicated inkjet conveyor which will provide a window for date coding the product (see bottom image) • Shirleys - Older job with SureLock, they are loading cookies and needed an ergonomic conveyor to reduce the reach for the packers. We de-nested plastic onto a belt configured on a turn which then merged with the cookie conveyor in a manner which tucked the lid underneath the cookie conveyor. Hiding the lid reduced the reach making for a more ergonomic arrangement. (see image on the next page)
