A Few Other General Best Practices
• PERSISTENCE IS KEY! Let’s hear from Jack about persistence in this short video:
• NEVER FORWARD INTERNAL EMAILS TO CUSTOMERS – create your own using information you received! We are all very busy – and try to save time on our tasks every step of the way. Forwarding emails including internal exchanges can be risky. They often contain information not intended for external parties. Think of it this way – you need to be the solution provider to your customer – wherever the information came from, the customer should always feel the information is coming from you. Leverage internal teams, but present the solution yourself to earn more trust from your customer. • DO NOT COPY THE CUSTOMER ON THE EMAIL TO THE INTERAL TEAM Similar to above – when requesting the information from an internal team, do not copy customer on the request. When you do, often times the customer starts conversing with other team members – you lose opportunities to provide solutions, lose touch points and opportunities to further impress your customer. Do not give these up. • MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS FOLLOW UP This one if obvious, but let’s state it anyways. Make sure you keep track of what you promised your contact – and always follow through timely. If you do not, your customers will not take you seriously.

Email signature is a perfect place for it – and easy to find. Make sure you have your signature in both – computer and phone Outlook apps. See step-by-step instructions here.
